You Tube Video about how to start your own protest
Tamar Gellar gave us pointers on how to deal with the parents!
1.Get educated on Pet Stores. If you haven't watched the Oprah show about puppy mills then please do so. On the home page you can download most of the Oprah show. There is lots of information on-line as well.
2.First you need to find a store in your neck of the woods that is selling dogs. Go inside and ask to hold a dog. Look at the cage or enclosure, pay attention to see if there is water or not. Check for cleanliness. Is the breeder information on the outside of the cage? Does the dog smell bad in anyway? If breeder info is not on the cage then ask the clerk or owner to please write it down for you. If they question your motives which usually happens be prepared. Have a good reason about why you want the info. The truth is always a good reason, as a consumer you have the right to know where the product they are selling comes from.
4.Please e-mail this breeder info to me at kim@dcupssavingteacups.com
5.Choose your message! Do you want to promote "Adopting rather than Buying" or would you like to promote "Compassion can be Trendy!" It's up to you. It's your chapter and you may write it as you wish. The D Cups chose puppy mills as their first pet store challenge. As you have seen in this website is was very successful.
6.Now you need to make signs. Click here for some tips!
7.Brochures-please visit lcanimal.org for a variety of messages that can easily be passed out at your protest. Of course you can make your own as well.
8. Pick a day. A busy day is usually Saturday. That is the day The D cups chose. Pick a time. 12 to 3 ???? It is really up to you. You decide what the commitment is and then stick to it.
9.Bring a friend. It's easier when there are two of you.
10.Be kind and as you proclaim your right to free speech and opinion always wear a hat to shade yourself from the harsh elements(sun damage).
Eventually I can help you use this web template and you can create a website to document your journey! E-mail me for the details!
